The X House sets itself apart by prioritizing the respect for its surroundings and the preservation of existing green spaces. Situated in a mixed forest within the city, this architectural marvel seamlessly integrates nature into its interior space through a large area of panoramic glazing. The result is a unique interior accent that brings the beauty of the outdoors inside.
Architects Muratov Maksym and Borodaienko Tanya, the masterminds behind this project, employed innovative construction techniques to bring their vision to life. The cantilever roof outlets and terraces of the second floor, forming graphic broken lines around the main volume of the house, were implemented using reinforced concrete structures. The exterior of the house features a harmonious blend of natural materials such as porcelain stoneware, metal, wooden elements, and fiber-cement panels, further enhancing its connection with nature.
Spanning an impressive 460 square meters, the X House is a testament to the skill and creativity of the design team. The project, which commenced in September 2017 and concluded in January 2019, is located in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
The X House has received well-deserved recognition for its outstanding design. It was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building, and Structure Design category in 2021. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that showcase creativity, resourcefulness, and technical excellence. The X House exemplifies these qualities, contributing to improvements in quality of life and making the world a better place.
With its seamless integration of nature, innovative construction techniques, and award-winning design, the X House by Ego House Architects stands as a testament to the harmonious relationship between architecture and the environment.
